Thailand is a fantastic tourist destination not because of its attractions and award winning hospitality services, but because it is mellow, cheery and unruffled. Even in chaotic Bangkok, you’ll find the charm and warmth that most metropolises lack. No wonder, people refer to Thailand as The Land of Smiles.

What would make most tourists smile is that Thailand holidays are far cheaper than other similar destinations like Greece, Suriname, and the Maldives. Yet, the experiences you get here are outstanding and the satisfaction of having holidayed in style without straining your budget is priceless!

Hotels:

When you look at most hotels in Bangkok and around (not counting the celebrity-style resorts by the beach), you’ll find the pricing so low that you sometimes wonder how they manage to sustain themselves (and yet, look so happy and at peace).

For instance, the Amari Boulevard in Sukhumvit, Bangkok is a trendy hotel where you get suites beginning for just $50 (£38) a night. Aloft Bangkok is an upcoming accommodation venue in the middle of the city where you get rooms at just $60 (£45) a night, with all facilities paid for. If you’re looking to stay in a penthouse, with a butler and a rooftop private swimming pool overlooking the city, you would need to pay $660 (£500) for a week. Yes, you read that right – a week!

When you compare similar hotel prices in London, Chicago, and Dubai, you know why travellers absolutely love Bangkok and Thailand.

Dining:

Like accommodation, fine dining amenities in Thailand (Bangkok, to be more precise) won’t hurt your budget at all. You can sample Japanese sushi cuisine at Zuma, a trendy upscale restaurant at the St. Regis complex, charm yourself with eclectic European cuisine at Bed Supper Club, and prepare for breathtaking views of the Bangkok skyline at Vertigo and Red Sky while you dine in true Thai style for a budget that never crosses $100 (£75) per person no matter how much you stuff yourself with awesome food.

The Beachside:

Beach sides all over the world tend to be costly and Thailand, while comparatively cheaper, is expensive. However, there still are a few resorts that cater to the budget traveller. What’s more, they never skimp on the quality factor.

The Rayavadee Resort on the Railay Beach in Krabi is one such budget accommodation that features top-notch amenities including beach front space, spas, manicured gardens and spacious rooms with fabulous furnishing. The good news is that you only have to pay £800 for a week at the Rayavadee Resort to enjoy the pampering and bliss! You’ll never get to experience such remarkable hospitality at such rates in other beachside destinations (Bahamas, for instance), so make the most of it while you’re in Thailand.

Spas and Wellness Programs:

There are myriad places you can get a Thai massage from, while you holiday here. Your hotel accommodation prices would include a complimentary massage and access to yoga, spiritual activities and meditation camps. But, if it doesn’t, you don’t have to worry. There are wellness therapies available here at ridiculously low prices, costing you less than a night out in the US or in the UK!

We’re not sure how long Thailand will remain affordable, so book your Thailand holidays, available on a shoestring budget now, before they cost you an arm and a leg.
